Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoners Dilemma

The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoner's Dilemma
by Trenton Lee Stewart

Trenton Lee Stewart does a fabulous job of illustrating adventure in the 391 page book The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoner's Dilemma. The story is about four children with special abilities. When Reynie Muldoon, Sticky (George) Washington, Kate Wetheral, and Constance Contraire get truly stuck as prisoners of the evil twin brother of Mr. Benedict named Ledroptha Curtain. They don't know what to do...except use Constance’s "abilities" to signal for help. When the "messages" get to Mr. Benedict a war starts but this time, who knows how it's going to turn out? Milligan shows huge amounts of bravery while trying to save the captured children.

In the third book of the Mysterious Benedict Society Milligan shows lots of bravery. First, Milligan gets pushed out of an elevator onto the roof where a ten man (a man that has ten or more ways to cause physical pain to your body) is fighting two security guards, but the guards are both knocked out and he's stuck either standing, or falling off the roof. Second, once Milligan has found his way back to the roof (he falls) he sees a ten man attacking his daughter and there's no way down to the ground to save her...unless you jump. Finally, after Milligan has gone through lengths to save the children of the society he decides to retire and stay with his daughter always and forever so that no harm can come to her or any other child in the society. This story is the perfect ending to a trilogy and I recommend it to all (after reading the first two of course!)
